STUART'S APPLE FARM TRIP
September 2009
We thought the apple sorting machine was cool - especially because we are learning about sorting!
Apple picking was fun too!
We learned about the antique cider mill. The Stuarts' only make cider 3 times a year - Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas.
The apple refrigerator was really COLD! We learned to keep apples longer, you need to keep them in the fridge.
We also helped write our recipe for applesauce and made our own to eat at snack. Everyone helped to make the applesauce.
We each gave it a stir and let it cook. It smelled so yummy!

On our way to meet Mrs. Stuart!
Thanks to the Stuart Family for making it a great trip!!
Getting back on the bus with all our apples!
We are so excited about our apples!
We also learned about & sequenced the journey an apple takes to get from the orchard to our stores.
Back at school,we learned and acted out an apple poem and made apple prints!
First, we peeled and chopped the apples. Then, we put them in the pan and added all the ingredients.
The verdict is in.. a thumbs up for the applesauce!
Here's Mr. Stuart and the kids in the pumpkin patch.
